Photosynthesis

The process that plants synthesise carbohydrates from raw materials using energy from light. Carbon Dioxide + Water → Glucose + Oxygen / $6CO_2 +6H_2O → C_6H_{12}O_6+6O_2$

Use & Storage of Carbohydrates

During photosynthesis, plants can produce different carbohydrates,

Starch: Energy store

Cellulose: Cell wall construction

Glucose: Used in respiration for energy

Sucrose: Transport in phloem

Nectar: Attracts insects for pollination

Lipids: Energy source in seeds.

Amino Acids: To make proteins.

Important Ions

These ions are actively absorbed from the soil by root hair cells.
